Functions of the Eckold Kraftformer KF 665

The mechanics and electro-mechanical drive of the Eckold Kraftformer are housed in a C-shaped spherical graphite cast iron casing with a protruding horn. An electric motor drives a flywheel and eccentric shaft via V-belts. Connecting rods, pressure levers, and pressure plates translate the eccentric rotational movements into vertical stroke movements of the upper machine ram. The three different ram speeds (150, 300, and 600 strokes per minute) are switched by push buttons located in the control panel, according to the tools used and the forming work. The upper ram is adjusted within a range of 80 mm using a gear motor via the adjusting spindle. The gear motor is controlled by a foot switch. With this setting: different tool heights are compensated for working pressure is regulated and the loading and unloading of workpieces are enabled. The machine's working stroke (8 mm) remains unchanged. The height adjustment or return of the ram can be limited by limit switches during series work. This allows the ram to be quickly and precisely driven to the previously set position. Thus, forming operations are consistently repeatable in series production.
